This ranking presents the 100 most-starred open-source projects on GitHub, updated daily. Total star count reflects the cumulative developer attention a project has attracted over its entire lifetime—the most widely recognized popularity metric in the open-source ecosystem.
However, total stars do not equal quality. A project with tens of thousands of stars may have ceased maintenance, while one with only a few thousand may be growing rapidly with extensive production adoption. We recommend using this star ranking as a window into the broader open-source landscape rather than the sole basis for technology stack decisions.
