Project comparison

Compare the job, operating effort and licensing limits of reviewed projects. No automatic winner.

Higher scores indicate easier setup, fewer commercial restrictions or broader scope. Editorial judgments, not benchmarks.

How to use the result

Start with the job you need done, not the highest score. Choose two to four reviewed projects. The three 0–10 scores are editorial judgments retained from our October 15, 2026 analyses: higher means easier deployment, fewer commercial restrictions, or broader capability within the project's own task. They are not benchmarks and are not comparable performance measurements across tasks. Official-source checks dated below cover descriptions and license pointers, not a fresh matched test. Read each full analysis for the score basis.

A worked example

For a document-ingestion shortlist, select MarkItDown and Docling. Use the same authorized sample with a table and a scanned counterpart. Decide whether plain Markdown is enough or whether you need structured layout output. Record missing cells, reading order and source references in the trial worksheet; do not infer a winner from the 7 versus 8 capability scores.

What this cannot establish

This curated snapshot is not a live inventory. An unspecified source version means the linked repository documentation was checked, not that all releases were tested. Unknown is not zero. Scores omit your staffing, sensitive-data policy and exact configuration. No combined score, performance promise or commercial authorization is produced.
